What to Expect on a 3 Tree Forest Adventure

Parkville Nature Sanctuary is the home forest for Three Tree Forest Adventures. We love every inch of that magnificent forest. We are not limited to only meeting at Parkville Nature Sanctuary. We can meet at other Nature centers, parks, and community gardens.

Our adventures begin with a quick hello, and reminder of some of the “rules of the forest”. We hike in the direction that the children desire. When they want to play, we play. When they want to sit, we sit. We read stories, look at nonfiction books, make art with various mediums. We adventure in all weather, with some exceptions. The children need to come prepared for the weather, rain gear, bug spray, winter gear, hats, to sunblock. We strongly believe that a new narrative needs to be used around weather. Weather is not bad, we just need to be prepared, and aware of our surroundings. Our adventurers climb on logs, get dirty, splash in muddy puddles, play in snow, dance in the rain, and explore the creeks. They always come home dirty. We guarantee that.

After 2 hours of hiking, crafting, playing, and reading we make our way back to the picnic tables at the front of the nature sanctuary. We are always so excited to share all of the stories from our adventures. The photos and stories of our adventure will be available soon after the hike. You’re welcome to share our stories with your friends.

We are still growing and have many exciting ideas and plans to share. We are a nonprofit pending our 501c3 status. Donations are always welcome for Three Tree Forest Adventures, and there are donation boxes at the Nature Sanctuary. If you feel that you want to thank the park for providing this special safe space, or you want to see Three Tree grow and nurture, there are several tip / donation options. With a gracious heart, we thank you.
