Rainy Day Fun
This hike began with a lot of heavy cloud cover. It had rained the night before, so there were plenty of puddles to enjoy on the trails. We jumped in many puddles. As we hiked, the rain began. It was a nice mellow rain. Light and Steady. They discovered deer tracks in the mud right before seeing the deer hunkered down under the PawPaw trees. This forest adventure was a little different…
Instead of hiking to the shelter, we MADE our own shelter. A shower curtain and picnic blanket became our fort. We sat beside the creek, dried off, and read about turtles. As we snacked, we listened to the raindrops falling on the canopy above. It was so peaceful and serene.
We packed everything up, and hiked further. We made sure every puddle was thoroughly splashed and enjoyed. These two friends didn’t let a little rain stop them from enjoying the forest adventures. They got to experience the peaceful beauty of the forest in the rain.
